Operations Monitoring
Operations Monitoring provides resource-level invocation statistics and performance metrics visualization, helping you monitor service status, evaluate response performance, and track capacity usage.
Access
- Sign in to the CloudBase platform and select the target environment.
- Select Log Monitoring in the left navigation pane.
- Select the Operations Monitoring tab at the top of the page.
After selecting a monitoring item, you can view the metric charts of the corresponding resource. For CloudRun, you can also open a service from the service list to see basic monitoring on the service page.
Filters
| Filter | Description |
|---|---|
| Resource Type | Select the monitoring target, such as the document database or all databases |
| Time Range | Today, last 7 days, last 30 days, or a custom date range |
The time filter at the top applies to all monitoring data on the page. For example, if you select "Last 7 days", both the statistics cards and charts display data from the past 7 days.
Granularity
Granularity refers to the unit time of each monitoring data point. The longer the time span, the coarser the granularity; the shorter the time span, the finer the granularity. Interpret chart values together with the current granularity.
Metrics
Invocation Requests
Charts display request statistics for the selected time range. Each metric shows the maximum (Max), minimum (Min), and average (Avg).
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Database invocations | Total number of database invocations |
| Read requests | Number of read requests |
| Write requests | Number of write requests |
Performance Metrics
Request distribution by response latency, used to evaluate service performance.
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| 10ms~50ms requests | Requests with a response time between 10ms and 50ms |
| 50ms~100ms requests | Requests with a response time between 50ms and 100ms |
| Requests over 100ms | Requests with a response time over 100ms |
Storage Usage
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Database capacity (MB) | Storage space currently used by the database, showing Max, Min, and Avg |
CloudRun Metrics
CloudRun provides monitoring at both the service and version level:
| Metric | Service | Version | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Invocations | ✅ | ✅ | Total requests received in the unit time |
| Response time (ms) | ✅ | ✅ | Average response time of all requests |
| QPS | ✅ | ✅ | Average number of requests processed per second |
| Error responses | ✅ | ✅ (HTTP errors) | Number of responses with HTTP errors such as 404 and 500 |
| CPU usage | ✅ | ✅ | Resource consumption in (cores x hours) |
| Memory usage | ✅ | ✅ | Resource consumption in (GiB x hours) |
| CPU utilization | — | ✅ | Average CPU utilization of instances; useful for scaling rules |
| Memory utilization | — | ✅ | Average memory utilization of instances |
| Instance count | ✅ | ✅ | Average number of running instances |
| Abnormal instance count | ✅ | ✅ | Average number of unhealthy instances; starting instances are counted as abnormal |
For details, see CloudRun Monitoring.
Metrics for Other Resources
Cloud functions, static website hosting, AI models, gateway, and environment QPS also expose monitoring metrics. You can query the full metric list and values with the CloudBase CLI:
# List monitoring metrics supported by all resource types
tcb monitor schema
# Query invocation count and error count of a cloud function
tcb monitor function helloWorld --metric-name FunctionInvocation --metric-name FunctionError
Common metrics:
| Resource | Metric | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Cloud functions | FunctionInvocation | Invocation count |
| Cloud functions | FunctionError | Error count |
| Cloud functions | FunctionDuration | Duration (ms) |
| Cloud functions | FunctionTimeout | Timeout count |
| Database | DbRead / DbWrite | Read / write requests |
| Database | DbCostTime100ms | Requests taking over 100ms |
| Static hosting | StaticFsSizePkg | Storage capacity (MB) |
| AI models | AITotalTokenNumPkg | Total tokens |
| Gateway | GatewayShowAPIHTTPError | Requests with HTTP status ≥ 400 |
| Environment | EnvQPSAll | Total environment QPS |
For the full command reference, see Monitoring Metrics.
Chart Controls
All monitoring charts support refresh, zoom in, and export.
Common Scenarios
| Scenario | Recommended metrics |
|---|---|
| Locating slow queries | Requests over 100ms, DbCostTime100ms, response time |
| Tracking capacity usage | Database capacity, static hosting storage capacity |
| Observing stability | Invocations, error responses, abnormal instance count |
| Configuring autoscaling | CPU utilization, memory utilization, instance count |
Notes
- Metric data is reported with some delay. View data with an appropriate time window.
- Chart values must be interpreted together with the granularity, which changes with the selected time range.
More Flexible Usage
The console is suitable for viewing charts. To query data over a longer period, export data in bulk, or feed your own dashboards, use the CloudBase CLI:
# List monitoring metrics supported by all resource types
tcb monitor schema
# Query invocation count and error count of a cloud function over the last 7 days
tcb monitor function helloWorld --since 7d --metric-name FunctionInvocation --metric-name FunctionError
For the full command reference, see CLI Monitoring Metrics.
